yeah. The main flaw of Miyuki is that she's flawless. Even her clumsyness can't be considered as a flaw. So that ends up making her pretty boring, and she's left out of the story pretty often. In the games she has that
'dark side' which is absent from the anime for some reason.

There are a couple of stories in the ps2 game in which she's the main heroine with Kagamin ('main heroine' as the fact that some love triangle is developped between Miyuki, Kagamin and the main guy, and the other girls are just here for the story). Not mentionning her Rakiraki Memorial route in which she's
the only main heroine. And I must say that it was during these moments that I found her being the best. I guess that if Miyuki was the main heroine of Lucky Star she would have been pretty popular.

Tsumugi from K-on! on the contrary gets lot of wacky sides, strange skills and ESP power (?!) that make her not being a Miyuki #2 and so she gets as much screentime as the others...

Actually on Wikipedia, it lists the Manga and Light Novel as ongoing. But I don't know how much I trust wikipedia

manga is still ongoing, volume 7 just came out recently and there's even a thread about it

Now it's up KyoAni to decide when to make a 2nd season. Considering the fact that the anime was highly popular, and that they only animated volumes 1 to 3 meaning there's lot of material left, that would be stupid of them to not make a second season.

and Kona-chan & co's graduation in volume 6 would make a perfect conclusion to the 2nd season

Don't know about his answer, but you hear a lot about DVA or Desktop Aniination Production (DAP) with Amiga people at least vis a vis the Video Toaster thing. Was in Wall Street Journal once they say.

DAP's like a Video Toaster ramped up with morphing software that enables you to draw storyboards and character movement vectors which the program "fleshes out" frame to frame and animates for you. (you dub the voices tho'). Disney's been toying with the tech for a while and scaring the hell from artist unions, and probably animation studios too. It'd be a cool toy if/when it gets out the marketplace.

Digital animation production has taken major steps since the Video Toaster. Many Japanese studios probably use RetasPro whereas Toon Boom is used here in the states. Much of the new animation production which used to be done overseas has begun to return here because of the wide use of Flash. Today anyone with a powerful desktop has a wide array of software to produce animation. It just takes time and talent.

LS is ongoing as far as the mangas go (technically they're 4-koma's but whatever)

As for a second season... well they waited 3 years for Haruhi's second season so if anything, after seeing how messed up of a sense of humor the higher ups in KyoAni have, they might decide to wait three years for LS second season as well... which thankfully isn't too far away... but right now they're probably ass deep in producing the Haruhi movie so give them slack on LS for now, once the movie airs, THEN start pounding them with "where is LS Season2" and questions along those lines :P

Hopefully we'll won't get an endless series of episodes of Konata walking into the same anime store and driving the salespeople crazy by not buying anything (Lucky Star's endless 8).
