Anyone go to the New York anime festival?
Awesome, yes?
Me and a friend went to the Bandai panel, the company licensing Lucky Star.
I was shocked:
A) I could actually stand most of the ENGLISH voices (I'm anti-dub normally).
B) They're actually keeping all the references in the anime (moe, zettai ryouiki) and they will probably have translator's notes as well.
Yeah, I'm really glad Bandai licensed it now.
No lie.
We actually asked them and those were the answers they gave us.
And of course I asked the obligatory "What side of a chocolate cornet do you eat from?"
They're going to give it the Haruhi treatment (never bought the DVD, so I wouldn't know) and will have special editions alongside the regular editions.
One of them will come with an actual chocolate cornet.

FYI, Konata/Tsukasa/Kagami/Miyuki's voice actors were decent.
Somehow they managed to keep Konata sounding funny in English.
Not as funny, but I think it was enough.
